“Women Have Been Resilient Since Time Immemorial”: Kubbra Sait’s Powerful Take On Empowerment And Breaking Stereotypes.
Kubbra Sait challenges the conventional narrative around women’s resilience, identity and empowerment in a thought-provoking address.
Actress Kubbra Sait, known for her fearless opinions and unapologetic individuality, recently delivered a powerful message on women’s empowerment at an event where she was honoured for being a voice for women. Challenging the idea that women need to be taught strength or resilience, the actress offered a refreshing perspective on empowerment and the freedom to live life on one’s own terms.
Speaking at the event, Kubbra said:
“To be associated with any platform that goes out there and represents women is nothing but an honour. And it’s not because we’re in dire times and women need help. I think women have been resilient since time immemorial. If anything, we have fought for what we wanted, since time immemorial. It may have been documented or otherwise, but somehow, we’ve come to believe that it’s been a man’s world.
We saw even in our last panel how men have given us the opportunity to become the women we want to be. And it’s just wonderful to hear that, especially in that political voice.
But I think, to answer your question, I’m very grateful to receive an award for being a voice for the empowerment of women. But I think I’ve just had the opportunity to live life, explore it fully, be unafraid to make mistakes, and try to be a better version of a human being for myself.
It just turns out that I’m a woman.”
With her powerful closing statement, Kubbra brought the conversation back to individuality, reminding audiences that empowerment is as much about personal freedom, choices and experiences as it is about gender.
Known for speaking her mind and challenging stereotypes, Kubbra continues to use her voice to encourage conversations that go beyond conventional narratives, reinforcing that women have always been resilient and deserve the freedom to define their own journeys.
