With the passing of the Citizenship Amendment Bill into an Act, several protests took place across the nation and thousands of people hit the streets, protesting against CAA and NRC. Not just common people and students of Jamia Millia, a few Bollywood celebs such as Farhan Akhtar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Parineeti Chopra, Rajkummar Rao, Anurag Kashyap took to their social media and raised their voice. Farhan Akhtar was also among the few celebs who were at the protest against CAA that took place in Mumbai a few days ago. He had also urged his fans on social media to join the protest and now, after a new still of his film Toofan released, #BoycottToofan started trending on Twitter.


It was just yesterday that Farhan Akhtar’s still from his upcoming film Toofan was released and it showed him standing in the boxing ring with a fierce expression. However, just hours later, #BoycottToofan started trending on Twitter, with people furious at him for his anti-CAA stance. While one Tweet read, “Farhan Akhtar's new movie 'Toofan' is releasing soon. Please remember what damage he did to our nation before watching his movie. Don't let your money being used for Anti India activities. Teach this man a lesson,” another Twitter user wrote, “When life gets harder, you should just support your country from heart and shouldnt get involved in negative publicity. Toofan uthega nahi, toofan thamne ka time aya hai abhi sir ji #BoycottToofan  #Toofan.” Check out some of the Tweets:






Farhan Akhtar, on December 18, 2019, took to Twitter and wrote, “Here’s what you need to know about why these protests are important. See you on the 19th at August Kranti Maidan, Mumbai. The time to protest on social media alone is over.”
