Amid COVID-19 outbreak, Shashi Tharoor shares photos celebrating 'World Idli Day', gets trolled on Twitter
On the occassion of World Idli Day and the lovers of this delicious dish flooded social media to express their fondness for Idli. And congress MP Shashi Tharoor also joined the bandwagon by sharing his breakfast. 

Tharoor took to his twitter to post a picture of idli with multiple types of chutneys to go with it. He tweeted the image writting, "As far as I’m concerned every day is Idli Day but today, March 30, is officially #WorldIdliDay. As far as I’m concerned, the greatest breakfast food ever devised by Man or God!"





In the image, posted by the Thiruvananthapuram MP, one can see a plate of idlis with multiple of chutneys, gun powder, sambar and rasam.

As soon as Tharoor shared a picture, it went viral in no time. Within minutes of being shared it garnered over 171 retweets and 1.9k likes.

Tharoor’s followers also commented to express their love for idlis. Some even joked about the large spread of Chutneys that were assembled next to the idli.

One twitter user wrote, "Looks more like Chutney Day." Another commented, "Nine chutneys for 3 idlys? that's criminal extravagance in a lockdown!"

"Idli is my favourite comfort food. Especially doused in the chutney," another user wrote in the thread.







However, there were many who did not like his tweet, by looking at the present coronavirus situation, where thousands of people were caught unaware and without food or essential items.
