Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s youngest son Anant Ambani is all set to tie the knot with the daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant, Radhika Merchant. Having exchanged the rings in 2023, they recently hosted an extravagant three-day pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar, Gujarat, where they took their guests on a wildlife safari and introduced their wildlife center Vantara. However, as a section of the internet was busy gushing over the snippets from the events, some went on ahead to mock Anant for gaining weight again.
As reported by the Times Of India, Anant’s weight gain has always been a talking point among the netizens. It was in 2017, that Nita had opened up about the same. During an interview with the leading publication, the concerned mother stated that her son was “highly asthmatic.” This led to them putting him on a lot of steroids. It was in 2016, that the head of the energy businesses of Reliance Industries’ weight-loss transformation shocked the internet. He inspired many as he reportedly lost 108 kg in less than 18 months. It was reported that apart from following a healthy diet and a rigorous workout routine, Ambani followed a thoroughly planned fitness program. He was trained by Vinod Channa, a Bollywood celebrity trainer, who has planned a program that helped Anant lose weight without interfering in his ongoing medication. However, Anant’s quickly gained back his weight which yet again became the talking point on the internet. This led to netizens passing comments on him, fat-shaming him. Talking about the same and crediting his parents for always having his back through his many health complications, he said, “I have faced many health crises since childhood but my father and mother have never let me feel it. They have always stood by me and my father and mother have always made me feel that if can think then I can do it. And that is what I think my father and mother mean to me and I am eternally grateful.”
For the unversed, the childhood sweethearts are all set to tie the knot in July 2024. Radhika is the daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant and Shaila Merchant. The couple had gotten engaged in a lavish ceremony of Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi which was attended by the who's who of Bollywood on January 19, 2023, in Antilia.
