Annapoorani Controversy: FIR Filed Against Nayanthara's Film For Hurting Religious Sentiments - DEETS INSIDE
Nayanthara and Jai's recent movie 'Annapoorani' has stirred controversy over claims of offending religious sentiments and endorsing 'Love Jihad'. The film received backlash for purportedly containing a contentious statement related to Lord Ram. Ramesh Solanki filed an FIR in Mumbai, raising concerns over the film's content.

The film Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food starring Nayanthara and Jai is now available for streaming on Netflix. Directed by newcomer Nilesh Krishnaa, the movie has faced criticism from Ramesh Solanki, who made a statement on X and lodged a police complaint alleging that the film promotes Love Jihad and has hurt Hindu sentiments.

A complaint has been lodged against Nayanthara, Jai, Nilesh, and producers Jatin Sethi, R Ravindran, and Punit Goenka, as well as Zee Studios Chief Business Officer Shariq Patel and Monika Shergill, the head of Netflix India.

The movie stars Nayanthara in the role of an aspiring chef who defies her mother's advice and takes part in the reality show 'India's Best Chef'. Produced by Jatin Sethi and R Ravindran, the film also stars Jai, Sathyaraj, Redin Kingsley, Suresh Chakravarthy, Renuka, and KS Ravikumar. Thaman S is the music composer, and Sathyan Sooryan serves as the cinematographer.

Nayanthara underwent professional chef training for her character, marking her reunion with Jai after their 2013 film Raja Rani. Controversy erupted on Twitter as the main character in the movie mentioned that, according to the story, Lord Ram consumed meat during his period of exile.
