Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stunned Twitter with a sweet gesture towards an auto-rickshaw driver from Punjab. The Delhi CM was delighted to receive a dinner invite extended by the latter during his visit to Punjab for the upcoming Legislative Assembly polls.

Taking to Twitter, Mr Kejriwal shared the same with his followers and in an unprecedented turn of events, the Chief Minister’s tweet has now gone viral. 


The invitation was extended to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal while addressing auto-rickshaw drivers in Ludhiana on Monday. In his Twitter post, Mr Kejriwal said that he was “touched” by the auto-rickshaw driver’s kind gesture. 

“I was so touched when an auto driver invited me for dinner to his house. We will certainly go there for dinner tonight,” he wrote in the tweet.


Apart from Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann and MLA Harpal Singh Cheema are set to visit the auto-rickshaw driver’s home today.

Talking about the Twitter post, the CM’s tweet has already garnered over 1,000 likes and tons of reactions. Netizens went a step ahead and lauded Arvind Kejriwal for his kind gesture.










An interaction between the auto-driver and Arvind Kejriwal was also posted on AAP’s official Twitter profile. “CM @ArvindKejriwal accepts invitation of an auto-rickshaw driver to visit his home on his auto for dinner,” read the caption.




However, netizens had mixed reactions to the Delhi Chief Minister’s gesture during his visit to the poll-bound state. Some internet users raised speculations if it was a scripted act while some others lauded Kejriwal’s simplicity.
