Assam Singer Zubeen Garg Death: Cousin and DSP Sandipan Garg Arrested by CID SIT in Guwahati Amid Ongoing Probe

On October 8, Assam’s CID Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested Sandipan Garg, DSP and cousin of late singer Zubeen Garg, in Guwahati in connection with Zubeen’s death. Sandipan, who also held the post of Superintendent of Police (In-Charge) of Boko, was taken into custody in the morning and is being questioned by investigators. 

Zubeen Garg tragically died on September 19 while in Singapore. At the time of the incident, Sandipan was reportedly with Zubeen aboard a yacht, a detail that has drawn significant attention in the ongoing investigation. 

The SIT’s decision to detain Sandipan follows mounting scrutiny over the circumstances surrounding Zubeen’s untimely death. As the probe deepens, authorities aim to uncover the full series of events that led to the tragedy. Sandipan’s presence at the scene has made him a central figure in this inquiry. 

The arrest has sparked public interest and media coverage, particularly given Sandipan’s dual identity as both a senior Assam Police officer and a close relative of the late singer.
