From a long time, rather years, the internet kept buzzing with rumours of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's retirement from cricket. The former skipper, however, used to rubbish them all in rather witty ways. But, hey, it appears that the unfortunate day has officially arrived. The cricket fan inside me sobs as I write that MS Dhoni AKA Mahi has finally announced his retirement from the international form of cricket. Making it more difficult for all his fans is the video shared by Dhoni on his Instagram. Ever since the news is out, fans across the globe are expressing their sadness of not being able to see Thala Dhoni slaying the stadiums across in the future.
The video shared by MS Dhoni is a compilation of some of his fond memories from on and off the field. Right from Dhoni's sixes and fours to him holding the trophy, from his sweet camaraderie with colleagues to some moments that defined struggle; it was indeed one heck of a journey that will be cherished by each and every cricket fan. The caption of Dhoni's video read, "Thanks a lot for your love and support throughout from 1929 hrs consider me as retired." Well, all the reactions under his video and across the internet show how people are not ready to let him go, while others bid him goodbye with a heavy heart.
Under Mahi's video, we came across heartbreaking comments like, "No ways... This is not done at all... Man.. You have more cricket left... Pls don't do this," "Who the hell is telling he is retired No legend plzz," "You are the best captain and player and you will be the best in everyone's heart," "Please dont retire sir."
Now, that's the end of an era. Meanwhile, Mahi will be seen in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League and guess, that's going to be even more special now.
