The protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act has become much stronger now. Today, a lot of people gathered at the August Kranti Maidaan in Mumbai to protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act that was passed recently. After Delhi, citizens of Mumbai have come forward to carry out a peaceful revolt against it and even Bollywood celebrities have come out in support of the protestors. While many citizens of the country are raising their voices against CAA, actress Shabana Azmi extended her full support towards the protestors through a video shared on social media.

Shabana Azmi took to her Twitter handle to share a video extending her support towards the protestors. As many people have gathered at August Azaad Maidaan in Mumbai including Farhan Akhtar, in the video shared by Azmi, the actress has expressed sorry as she couldn't be at the maidan in person. Tweeting the video, the actress wrote, “In solidarity with protestors against CAA and NRC,” expressing her feelings. She has wished that the Government listens to their plea and revokes the act passed. In the video, Shabana Azmi also mentioned that she regrets not being present with the protestors at August Kranti Maidaan as she is currently not in India. The actress further appealed to the protestors to make sure that no violence takes place while protesting. Earlier Javed Akhtar too shared his thoughts and raised his voice in support of the protestors against CAA. 


 Meanwhile, the protests at August Kranti Maidaan took place after four days of continuous protest by activists and students across the nation. At the Anti-CAA protest in August Kranti Maidaan in Mumbai, celebrities like Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Swara Bhasker, Huma Qureshi, director Rahul Dholakia, and Sushant Singh were seen protesting and chanting slogans.
