Coldplay India Concert Might Get Cancelled! Fans Speculate After BookMyShow CEO Summoned Over Alleged Black Marketing Of Tickets
Coldplay is set to perform in Mumbai in January 2025, and the excitement among fans is palpable. However, a significant number of fans were left disheartened when tickets for the highly anticipated concert sold out in mere minutes. The rapid sell-out led to a surge in ticket prices on the black market, raising concerns about unethical practices surrounding the ticketing process. In light of these issues, Ashish Hemrajani, the CEO of BookMyShow, has been summoned by the Mumbai Police to address allegations of a ticketing scam. This situation has further fueled speculation on social media platforms, particularly on X, where fans are voicing concerns that the concert might be canceled altogether.

Many fans who had waited in virtual queues only to miss out on tickets took to social media to share their frustrations and theories regarding the situation. It’s crucial to emphasize that these claims about a potential cancellation remain speculative at this point. The scrutiny intensified after Hemrajani and BookMyShow’s technical head were summoned on September 27 but failed to appear before the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW). This investigation stems from a complaint by advocate Amit Vyas, who accused the platform of facilitating black market sales through scalpers and third-party websites. In response, BookMyShow has distanced itself from these claims, urging fans to remain vigilant against scams.

As Coldplay prepares for its first performance in India in eight years, anticipation is high. The band will take the stage at the D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025. Due to overwhelming demand, an additional show was added to the original two. There are also whispers that Chris Martin and his bandmates might perform in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025, although this has yet to be confirmed. This speculation has generated excitement among fans nationwide, causing hotel prices in Ahmedabad to spike. However, it's essential to clarify that neither the additional show nor any concert cancellations have been officially validated.
