Coronavirus Outbreak: Mahindra Group Offers To Turn Their Resorts To Temporary Care Facilities, Read Anand Mahindra's Stellar Plan
As Coronavirus continues to spread globally, several celebrities and famous personalities are gradually coming out and offering their support financially, or in whatever way they can. Celebs such as Rihanna, Blake Lively, and Ryan Reynolds donated to relief efforts, and now Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group took to Twitter and announced several measures to fight coronavirus outbreak. He offered to contribute 100 percent of his salary to the fund, and also offered to temporarily convert their resorts as care facilities. Furthermore, he also announced the production of ventilators at Mahindra’s factories.

Anand Mahindra’s tweet read, “Going by various reports from epidemiologists, it is highly likely that India is already in Stage 3 of transmission. —Cases could rise exponentially with millions of casualties, putting a huge strain on medical infrastructure.” Another tweet mentioned that while a lockdown will help to flatten the curve and moderate the pressure on medical care, there will be a need to create temporary hospitals. He further tweeted, “To help in the response to this unprecedented threat, we at the Mahindra Group will immediately begin work on how our manufacturing facilities can make ventilators. At Mahindra Holidays, we stand ready to offer our resorts as temporary care facilities.”

Anand Mahindra’s tweet further mentioned that their Projects team is ready to assist the government and the army to erect temporary care facilities. “The Mahindra Foundation will create a fund to assist the hardest hit in our value chain (small businesses & the self employed). We will encourage associates to voluntarily contribute to the Fund. I will contribute 100% of my salary to it & will add more over the next few months. I urge all our various businesses to also set aside contributions for those who are the hardest hit in their ecosystems,” he wrote.

A great initiative, we think, and here’s hoping more celebrities, organizations, and famous personalities come forward and help in any way they can, as the world tackles the pandemic together.
