Sunny Deol was seen visibly upset on Thursday morning when he confronted paparazzi lingering outside his residence after his father, Dharmendra, had been discharged from hospital on Wednesday.
With folded hands, Sunny addressed the photographers: “Aap logo ko ghar jaana chahiye. Aapke ghar mein maa-baap hai, aapke bachche hai. Woh dekh ch****e ki tarah video khech raha hai. Sharam nahi aati.” He expressed his frustration at being filmed aggressively outside the home, pointing out personal responsibilities the paparazzi might be neglecting.
A video circulating on social media shows the exchange, and several users have criticised one uploader in particular, Vishal Vasita, for posting footage they considered private and insensitive.
Earlier, Dharmendra had been hospitalised in Mumbai and received visits from prominent industry figures. After his discharge, Sunny’s team issued a statement: “Mr Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”
