Diljit Dosanjh Reportedly Holds US Citizenship Since 2022, Travels On American Passport: Report

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has reportedly acquired United States citizenship and has been travelling on a US passport since 2022, according to recent media reports. The news surfaced while the actor is busy with his ongoing AURA World Tour 2026 across North America. Reports claim that Diljit no longer holds Indian citizenship and has been visiting India using an e-visa.

As per a report published by The Indian Express, Diljit has been using his American passport since September 2022. It was also stated that his last Indian passport was issued in Mumbai in 2018, while an earlier one had reportedly been issued in Zambia. The report further mentioned that his wife, Sandeep Kaur, is also a US citizen. While applying for American citizenship, Diljit is said to have listed a luxurious five-bedroom bungalow in California as his residential address.

The singer-actor has not yet reacted publicly or issued any clarification regarding the reports about his citizenship status. The development has sparked major discussion online, especially because Diljit is often seen as one of Punjab’s biggest global cultural icons.

The reports emerged shortly after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that Diljit was allegedly being pressured by the BJP to enter politics. Addressing the media recently, Mann stated that the actor had already made it clear through social media that he only wants to focus on entertainment and has no political ambitions.

On the work front, Diljit was last seen in Border 2, which performed successfully at the box office. He will next be seen in filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, slated to release on June 12, 2026.
