Dipika Kakar Undergoes 14-Hour Surgery For Stage 2 Liver Cancer; Husband Shoaib Ibrahim Shares Health Update
On June 3, 2025, television actress Dipika Kakar underwent a 14-hour-long surgery for stage 2 liver cancer. Her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, shared a health update the following day via Instagram Stories. He wrote, "Hi everyone, Sorry I couldn’t update you last night, it was a long surgery. She was in OT for 14 hrs. But Alhamdulillah, everything went well. Dipi is currently in the ICU. She’s in some pain, but she’s stable and doing okay."
Shoaib expressed gratitude for the support they've received, stating, "Thank you all dil se for your love, prayers, and support, it truly means a lot. I will update you all once she’s out of the ICU. Thank you once again. Keep praying for her."
Prior to the surgery, Shoaib had disclosed in a vlog that Dipika had a "tennis ball-sized" tumor in her liver. Further tests confirmed it was malignant, leading to the diagnosis of stage 2 liver cancer. Dipika also shared her experience on social media, writing, "As you all are aware last few weeks have been quite difficult for us... walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach... and then finding out it's a tennis ball size tumour in the liver and then finding out that the tumour ... !"
Dipika Kakar, known for her roles in television, has been transparent about her health journey, sharing updates with her fans. The successful surgery marks a significant step in her recovery process. The couple has requested continued prayers and support as Dipika recuperates.
