Divya Spandana On Actor Darshan’s Arrest In Renuka Swamy Murder Case: ‘No One Is Above The Law, Don’t Go Around Beating People And Killing Them’
Former Congress leader and Kannada actress Divya Spandana has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her versatile performances. As she enjoys a huge social media following, she has also been a target of incessant trolling. Days after Kannada actor and filmmaker Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested in the murder case of his fan Renuka Swamy, she took to her official handle to condemn the act. She stated how no one should take the law into their own hands.

For those who don’t know, Renuka has reportedly sent obscene messages and photos to the Darshan’s rumoured partner Pavithra Gowda on Instagram and even accused her of coming between the actor and his wife. The 33-year-old Apollo Pharmacy worker was found dead on June 8 at the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. Taking to her Instagram stories, Divya penned a long note. She explained that the application has a block option if the trolls are bothering someone. Even after that if they persist, one should file a complaint. Sharing her own experience with trollers, she revealed that she “like any law-abiding citizen” has filed cases against her trollers. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, the 41-year-old actress added, “They’ve trolled other actors too. They haven’t spared their wives and children either. What a sad society we live in. I have filed cases like any law-abiding citizen should. Sometimes post a warning from the police to the trolls l have taken back the case too on compassionate grounds. I’ve also considered the fact that these people are young and have a future ahead and they’re ruining/ wasting their lives by trolling using anonymous handles. No one is above the law. No one should take the law into their hands. You don’t go around beating up people and killing them. A simple complaint would suffice whether you believe justice will be served or not.” ALSO READ: Renuka Swamy Murder Case: Darshan Thoogudeepa’s Associates Recreate Murder Scene For Police During Investigation

She went on to thank the Bengaluru police for their hard work and hoped that they “don’t succumb to pressure from political parties and reinstate the faith of the people in law and justice.” She concluded her post by using the necessary hashtags.

The officials are currently investigating the murder case. As per several media reports, Renuka was allegedly beaten with belts and sticks. He was also thrown against the wall, which led to his death. After Renuka was brutally murdered, his remains were discarded in a canal in Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru. Apart from Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda, 10 people have been taken into police custody in connection with the case.
