Amid Coronavirus lockdown, cricketers have been very active on social media and are giving quite a few interviews and doing a lot of Instagram lives to keep in touch with their fans as well as to keep them engaged. A while back Indian opening batsman Murali Vijay was asked by sports producer Rupha Ramani about two cricketers he would like to go out for dinner with. His answer was Australian women’s team’s star all-rounder Ellyse Perry and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan.
In the Instagram live session, Murali Vijay had said, “Ellyse Perry. I want to have dinner with her. She is so beautiful. And Shikhar Dhawan any day. He is a fun guy. Just that he will speak Hindi and I will be conversing in Tamil.” Responding to those comments, the no. 1 all-rounder in ODIs, Ellyse Perry said that it was very kind of him to pick her and hoped that he’d pay for the dinner. In an Instagram live session with Ridhima Pathak, she said, “I hope he’s paying. That’s very kind of him. I’m flattered.”
Ellyse also talked about the Coronavirus pandemic and its effect on the cricketing community as well as the cricketing boards around the world.
Boards such as Cricket Australia have been going through a financial crisis due to the lockdown and have also laid off the majority of their staff due to it but Perry believes that the boards will come up with new ways to bring in revenue and overcome this situation.
