Days before the consecration ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi temple, a glimpse of the Ram Lalla idol was shared on social media. A netizen took to their X handle (formerly known as Twitter) to unveil the idol’s face on Friday. Installed inside the temple on Thursday, the face of the idol was revealed after the blindfold placed on its face was removed ahead of the ceremony that is scheduled for January 22. 

According to a report by the Free Press Journal, the first photo of the 51-inch idol depicts the deity as a standing 5-year-old child. The idol was carved from black stone by artist Arun Yogiraj of Mysuru. As soon as the image surfaced on the internet, netizens got emotional looking at the beauty of the idol. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to participate in the consecration ceremony, also known as ‘Pran Pratishtha,’ at the Ram temple on 22 January 2024. For the unversed, ‘pran pratishtha’ signifies instilling an idol with divine consciousness. It is a crucial ritual that is followed for every idol that is worshipped in a temple. If reports are to be believed, the temple will be open to the public from the next day. He has also urged every Indian to illuminate a diya in their homes on Jan 22. The temple has extended invitations to over 11,000 guests including celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor, Ramananda Sagar's Ramayan fame Arun Govil and Dipika Chilika, Ram Charan, Rajinikanth, Kangana Ranaut among many others. 

As per FPJ, the rituals leading up to the main ceremony have already commenced at the temple, which is erected at the site that  is stated to be Lord Ram’s birthplace.
