FIRST Trans Man Pregnancy In India! Kerala Transgender Couple Set New Goals As They Prepare To Welcome Their Child In March-SEE POST!
While many might have reservations about trans relationships, a Kerala couple has set new goals for all sexual minorities across the globe. A transgender couple from Kozhikode has broke the internet as a 21-year-old transwoman, Ziya, announced her pregnancy with Zahad Paval, a 23-year-old trans man. The pair is preparing to become the country’s first openly transgender parents.

The couple will be expecting their first child as Zahad has become pregnant through conception in India, and they will welcome the child in March. However, despite his initial hesitation and concern for others’ opinions, Zahad realised that he still might have a chance to conceive. He ultimately decided to become pregnant while still retaining his femininity.

In about six months to one year after giving birth, Zahad, who had his breasts removed, will start the process of transitioning to a trans man. Ziya, on the other hand, is starting her journey to become a trans woman at the same time.

The couple intends to feed the infant using the Government Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode's breast milk bank.

A Manorama report suggests before pregnancy, the couple had discussed adopting a child and inquired about the procedure. However, being a transgender couple, they found the legal proceedings difficult.

Although both of them were undergoing gender transition, a team of doctors from Kozhikode Medical College revealed that there was no physical difficulty in conceiving.

For the unversed, Zahad is a transgender person who works as an accountant. He was born a woman and is currently undergoing hormone therapy to become a man. Ziya, teaches classical dance, and both are natives of Kerala. The trans couple were midway through the gender affirmation process when their desired to have a child.
