The number of Coronavirus cases in India is increasing, and many celebrities and famous personalities have also recently tested positive for COVID-19. Former India cricketer and Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Chetan Chauhan has tested positive for Coronavirus, and after the news emerged, former India players Aakash Chopra and R P Singh tweeted about it and wished for his speedy recovery. Chetan Chauhan has reportedly been admitted to a hospital in Lucknow, and his family members have also undergone COVID-19 tests.

Aakash Chopra tweeted, “Chetan Chauhan ji is also tested positive for #COVID-19. Sending best wishes in his direction too...get well soon, sir,” while R P Singh wrote, “Just heard about @ChetanChauhanCr ji Chetan has tested positive for #coronavirus . Praying for his speedy recovery.” As per a report in ABP Live, Chauhan was tested on Friday after he showed mild symptoms. The test reports came back on Saturday afternoon after which he was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi PGI hospital in Lucknow.

The report also stated that reports of his family members are awaited and they are currently under home quarantine.


Former opener Chetan Chauhan is now a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government and holds the Sainik Welfare, Home Guards, PRD and Civil Security ministry in the UP cabinet. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and Scotland’s Majid Haq were also among those who had tested positive for Coronavirus and recovered from it.
