Hasan Minhaj And His Crew Denied Entry At The Howdy Modi Event In Houston – Reports
Indian-American standup artist Hasan Minhaj is known for his controversial take on the Indian politics, including some jibes at our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. It was on Sunday evening that PM Narendra Modi addressed a whopping 50,000 Indian-Americans at the Howdy Modi event that was organised in Houston, USA. It was also graced by US President Donald Trump was a huge success. However, Hasan Minhaj, who was eager to witness it, was reportedly denied entry by the organisers.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the standup comedian could be seen talking to the media coordinator of Howdy Modi event from the press registration desk outside the venue, on a phone call. It was on a loudspeaker and Minhaj could be heard enquiring for his credentials to enter the event. Upon his enquiry, the coordinator replied that there aren’t any credentials for his entry, to which the Patriot Act host stated that he was being denied because of jokes. The coordinator rubbished his claims and said, “No, I didn’t say you were denied because of the jokes. Yeah, some people were not happy, but that doesn’t matter to me much. The reason I can’t get you in is due to the lack of space for broadcast crews.”

Though Hasan Minhaj is yet to respond to all the reports that say he wasn’t allowed to enter the venue. In fact, taking to his social media, Hasan had even expressed his excitement on being a part of Howdy Modi, by sharing a picture of himself from outside the venue. In his caption, he wrote, “Here to celebrate two great nations coming together. India first. But America first too. #HowdyModi.”
