Staying indoors isn’t something most of the sportsmen around the world are used to but with the pandemic of Coronavirus, there is no option left but to stay indoors and stay in touch with sports and stay fit somehow. In these tough times, social media is a platform that is helping the sportsmen stay in touch with their fans as well. And with the dearth of sports worldwide, social media is where the fans are turning towards to get their dose of sports. In all of this, there’s one silver lining that the sports stars are getting to spend quality time with their families at home which would’ve been very difficult during the year. Here’s a look at superstars Roger Federer, Leander Paes, Cristiano Ronaldo, and others, as to what they are up to in their lockdown period.
Tennis legend Roger Federer has been confined to his home in Switzerland recuperating from his knee injury and spending quality time with his family. He also started ‘the wall challenge’ which became a rage and saw various celebs and fans sending videos across. Along with another tennis legend Rafael Nadal, Federer almost broke the social media when their Instagram live garnered over 58 million views. Close to home, Indian tennis legend Leander Paes is going strong and is busy with household chores and home workouts while also starting ‘the frying pan challenge’ on social media.
Cristiano Ronaldo, too, seems to be enjoying his time at home with his family and also got a haircut done at home. Chess great Vishwanathan Anand, who’s stuck in Germany helped raise funds for the country by playing chess online whereas Bhaichung Bhutia has offered to provide shelter to migrant workers.
Wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia have been sweating it out with their workouts indoors. Shooter Manu Bhaker is busy perfecting her skills amid lockdown through online shooting competitions.
