There’s no denying, beauty standards have been painting unrealistic images that society has set for women to live up to. Every generation is expected to set requirements with which people are expected to conform. However, many activists, actors and trailblazers have been breaking social stigmas by challenging those rigid expectations who have championed non-conformity.

Many who have supported women’s rights and gay rights moments have long been at the forefront, supporting the human rights to control one’s own body and the way one choose to display it.

Now, Janelle Monáe has taken up the baton to quash the unrealistic beauty standards which are a play to today’s society. She shared a series of bold and sexy pictures on Instagram. The singer was seen showing off her envious curves and she even put her unshaven armpits on display.

Well, the fans clearly couldn’t stop crushing on her as she looked drop-dead gorgeous in a bra and high-waisted bikini bottom.

Check out her pictures below:

Born in Kansas City in 1985, Janelle began singing as a child and got her big break in 2005 when Big Boi invited her to perform on several OutKast tracks. She was later signed by producer Sean "Puffy" Combs to his Bad Boy Records label.

Later in 2010, she debuted a full-length album, The ArchAndroid, which rose to number 17 on the U.S. Billboard album chart and received a Grammy nomination. Following this the album The Electric Lady (2013) was released and it featured singers Prince and Erykah Badu.

Later, she also branched out into films appearing in Moonlight and Hidden Figures in 2016, and she finally revealed her third album, Dirty Computer, in April 2018.
