K-Pop Artist Goo Hara Found Dead At Her Seoul Home; Cause Of Her Death Is Still A Mystery
All the K-pop fans, last night, were taken aback by the news of South Korean singer Goo Hara’s tragic demise. Goo’s dead body was discovered in her residence on Sunday, said the police officials. They added that the cause of her death is still unknown and that they haven’t provided any further details on this incident. The28-year-old’s death took place six months after she was found unconscious at her residence, which was described as a suicide attempt by the local media.

In the year 2018, Goo Hara had accused her former boyfriend, Choi Jong-bum, of filming their sexual encounter without her consent and threatening her of circulating it in public. She had even dragged him to the court. He, however, denied her allegations and had filed an appeal to prove his innocence. Soon after Goo’s death made it to the news, more than 275,000 signed an online petition that demanded the presidential official to execute a harsher punishment for revenge-porn offenders. It was in the year 2008 that Goo Hara made her debut as a singer by joining a popular girl group named Kara. Soon after, she became a solo artist and worked in several TV shows.

Goo Hara’s dead body was discovered in less than two months after her fellow K-pop singer Sulli was discovered dead in her apartment. Sulli was known for being a vocal feminist and would often share her two cents on sensitive issues, which was no less than a taboo among all the female artists down a conservative country like South Korea. Before her demise, Sulli had graced a TV show and spoke length about the online criticism she used to receive for her lifestyle. Her death was declared as an unsuspected suicide.
