Kannada actor Diganth Manchale is hospitalized in Bengaluru after he suffered a serious spinal injury in Goa
Well, it seems like Kannada actor Diganth Manchale’s Goa vacation has taken a toll on his health as he suffered a serious spinal injury. As per a report in Hindustan Times, Diganth met with an accident and hurt his spine when he was doing a sports activity on the trampoline. The actor jetted off to Goa with his wife actor Aindrita Ray for a holiday. On Tuesday, he was rushed to a hospital in Bengaluru after he suffered the spinal injury
Talking about his son-in-law’s injury, Aindrita’s father informed that Diganth will be undergoing 'surgery.’ Speaking to TOI, he stated that the actor was doing some sports activity on the trampoline when he suddenly fell on his back. It’s a serious injury as there is a dislocation of the cervical vertebra.
“His fingers started numbing and since they didn't have the proper equipment (to treat him) they thought they will shift him to Bangalore. But it was not advisable to shift him to Bangalore in this condition. I believe there was some arrangement by the Goa government and they arranged special aircraft for them. They are now on the way to Bangalore right now,” Aindrita’s father was quoted saying.
In a statement, Manipal Hospital said, “Mr Diganth arrived at Manipal Hospital, Old airport road, Bangalore at 4:30 pm. He is admitted under Dr Vidyadhara S, HOD & Consultant Spine Surgeon and is being evaluated for his present status. He had sustained a sports injury in Goa two days back and was being treated at Manipal Hospital, Goa prior to this. His investigations are being carried out and the results are awaited.”
On the work front, Diganth Manchale ventured into acting in 2006 with 'Miss Californi'. He rose to fame with his brilliant stint as Doodhpeda in the 2008 released Gaalipata. Manchale has also appeared in several Kannada movies like Pancharangi, Lifeu Ishtene and Parijatha.
