Madonna’s ‘S*x’ Book Pictures To Be Auctioned In October! Singer’s Sultry Nude Pics To Fetch Approx $50,000 To $300,000-REPORTS
Madonna has once again grabbed the spotlight as the prints of photographs from her coffee table book ‘Sex’, released in 1992, are set to be sold at auction. The titillating and sensual pictures were clicked when the star was 34 in New York and Miami and they are set for sale for the first time ever at Christie’s New York this October. The latest development comes in honour of the 30th anniversary of the novel. 

As part of a standalone auction, each print will be an edition of one and it will be signed by Madonna and a fashion photographer Steven Meisel, who shot the book, with prices ranging from $50,000 (approx Rs 41,12,815) on the low end up to $300,000 (approx Rs 2,46,76,890), according to Darius Himes, Christie’s deputy chairman and international head of photographs, reported IndiaToday. A part of the proceeds will go toward Raising Malawi, a nonprofit founded by Madonna in 2006 to support orphans and vulnerable children in the southeast African country.

The launch of ‘Sex’ has stirred up a storm among the masses during the early 1990s. The pictures were released with Madonna's fifth album titled ‘Erotica’ and it contained explicit pictures of the pop star with her then-boyfriend rapper Vanilla Ice, and stars like supermodel Naomi Campbell and socialite Tatiana von Fürstenberg.

Notably, the book was banned in countries like Ireland and Japan but it still managed to sell more than 1.5 million copies.

Prior to the auction which is all set to be held in October this year, the photographs will be exhibited at Christie’s London from May 23 until June 2, then in Paris from June 27 to July 6 before heading to New York on September 30, where they will be on display until October 6.
