The recent hike in penalties to be charged for breaking traffic rules has taken the country by storm. Assumptions are being made by people claiming that the Mahesh Babu film Bharat Ane Nenu is the reason behind the government’s big move. Bharat Ane Nenu released in 2018 and is about a student who becomes the leader of Andhra Pradesh and makes attempts to bring a change in politics. The Telegu industry fans love their stars to the core and believe that scenes from the Mahesh Babu film might have an uncanny resemblance to the government’s sharp move on traffic penalties.

In Bharat Ane Nenu, Mahesh Babu plays the character of Bharat, a young idealistic chief minister who restores the system completely, firstly bringing about a change in the traffic rules. In the film, Bharat aka Mahesh Babu breaks a stir on traffic violations by bringing a drastic hike in the penalties levied. The Twitterati claims to believe that director Siva Koratala’s film Bharat Ane Nenu might have majorly inspired the government to make this sharp move. The Motor Vehicles Bill that was passed in August, but the revised fines were to be in effect from September 1. As the notification has not been issued as of yet, the imposing of fines has been delayed. According to the bill passed, the penalties have hiked drastically and breaking the traffic signal or using the mobile phone while driving can lead to a person paying a fee of Rs. 5000. While for not wearing a helmet or a seat-belt, one can be charged a fine of Rs. 1000. According to the scene in Bharat Ane Nenu, the schemes put forward by Bharat are criticized which then later finds the approval of everyone.
