Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially announced through their social media account how they have decided to step down from their duties as the senior members of the royal family. Ever since then, Harry and Meghan have been trying their best to fulfil all their royal duties before the big step. Now, a day before finally stepping down from their roles as the senior members of the Royal family, the couple officially announced the end of their social media account and website Sussex royal.
On Instagram, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they will no longer use their account under the @SussexRoyal handle or update their website SussexRoyal.com. According to a People.com report, a spokesperson to the couple revealed that although the couple will be inactive on social media, both their Instagram account and website will remain in existence online for the foreseeable future.
The post on Instagram was shared with a long caption where the couple clearly explained the situation to all their followers across the globe. In the caption of the post, the couple briefly spoke on the current crisis the world has been facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Talking about how what is most important right now is the health and well-being of everyone worldwide, Harry and Meghan mentioned to their followers that as they may not see them on social media, the couple will continue their work. Concluding finally, the couple thanked everyone for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world and mentioned how they look forward to reconnecting with everyone soon. Meanwhile, the spokesperson in the report also mentioned that as it was agreed upon with the Royal family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not use the name Sussex Royal anymore for their charitable organization, Instagram or website and added that for now there is no additional information on the next steps of the couple. The spokesperson also revealed that Meghan and Harry will not actively use their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles.
