Meghan Markle and Prince Harry completely shook everyone when they announced that they would be stepping down from their Royal duties in 2020. The couple then shifted to Vancouver, Canada and later moved to Los Angeles, California, with their son, Archie. As they are settling in in the new country, the former Duchess of Sussex revealed how she was subjected to trolling which affected her mentally and emotionally in a new podcast. On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Meghan who was also joined by her husband and former Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry spoke about various important topics and one of them was mental health. The couple was joined by three Californian high school students on an episode of their podcast ‘Teenager Therapy' where Markle openly discussed online bullying and how it affected her.
"I can speak personally, too. I'm told that in 2019 I was the most trolled person in the entire world, male or female," Meghan shared during the podcast session. “Eight months of that, I was not even visible — I was on maternity leave, or with a baby. But what was able to just be manufactured and churned out. It’s almost unsurvivable. That’s so big you can’t even think about what that feels like. Because I don’t care if you’re 15 or 25, if people are saying things about you that aren’t true what that does to your mental and emotional health is so damaging,” she further shared on the podcast.
While sharing a few stills from the episode, an Instagram account of Teenager Therapy wrote, "In honour of World Mental Health Day, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down with us for a conversation about prioritizing mental health, removing the stigma around the issue, and how we can all contribute to a healthier world: physically, mentally, emotionally, holistically."
