One of the most prestigious beauty pageants in the world, Miss World hosted its 71st edition in India. The event was exclusively streamed live in India for the audience on Sony LIV. On Saturday, Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic won the coveted Miss World 2024 title during the finale event. She was crowned by Poland’s Miss World Karolina Bielawska at the grand star-studded finale. Miss Lebonan Yasmina Zaytoun was titled as the first runner-up. Netizens have been taking to social media to express their delight. 

As reported by the Free Press Journal, the event was hosted in India after 28 years. 22-year-old, Femina Miss India World in 2022, Sini Shetty based in Mumbai represented the country. She was unable to make it to the top 4 of the contest. Talking about the beauty pageant, it witnessed participation from 112 countries of the world. The 71st Miss World event was held at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC, Bandra, Mumbai. The 12-judge panel for the finale consisted of Sajid Nadiadwala, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Harbhajan Singh, Rajat Sharma, Amruta Fadnavis, and many others.


Hosted by Karan Johar and former Miss World Megan Young, the event kickstarted with performances by Shaan, Neha Kakkar, and Tony Kakkar. While Priyanka Chopra highlighted the importance of beauty with purpose through a video message, the star cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, walked with 13 fast-track Miss World contestants on the show’s new song Sakal Ban. 

For those who don’t know, India has won the prestigious title six times with Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra Jonas (2000), and Manushi Chillar (2017).
