The results of the list are based on the total retweets, likes, quote tweets made by Twitter handles in India. It's calculated between January 1 and November 15 this year.

Actress Kajal Aggarwal leaves Samantha Akkineni behind and bags the second spot. The most mentioned South Indian actors of 2020 (Male) list includes Vijay, Jr NTR, Suriya, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Dhanush, Mohanlal and Chiranjeevi Konidela, after Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan making it to the top 2.
Speaking of the most mentioned South Indian actors of 2020 (Female) list, it includes Rashmika Mandanna, Pooja Hegde, Taapsee, Tamannaah Bhatia, Rakul Preet Singh, Shruti Haasan and Trish, after Keerthi Suresh, Kajal Aggarwal, and Samatha Akkineni in the top 3.
Meanwhile, as per the #ThisHappened2020 Twitter report, the top tweets in the Tamil and Telugu entertainment industry were Mahesh Babu’s tweet wishing actor Pawan Kalyan. The tweet stands as the most re-tweeted on by a South star on Twitter. The tweet made by Mahesh Babu is a heartfelt Birthday wish for Pawan Kalyan, that features an old picture. The films Sarkaru Vaari Paata, recently released Soorarai Pottru, S S Rajamouli’s RRR, Pushpa, Sarileru Neekevvaru, KGF Chapter 2 and Darbar, were also a part of the list.
