There were speculations about Indian cricketer and former Indian cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's retirement since a long time until he officially announced it. On the 74th Independence day this year, on August 15, MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on social media. After MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on Independence day,  Yuzvendra Chahal opens up about the decision of the Indian cricketer and also shares how he has been a pillar of support to him. Speaking with CNN News18, in an interview, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal spoke about MS Dhoni retirement and revealed how it was shocking to him. Chahal said, “Main toh chahunga ki Mahi Bhai khele.” The cricketer said that he still wishes that MS Dhoni plays and also revealed that he has supported him a lot throughout his career so far. Yuzvendra Chahal then continued to mention that MS Dhoni’s retirement was shocking news for him but mentioned that the current pandemic outbreak also might have led to the cricketer’s decision. He also mentioned that MS Dhoni would have also played the World Cup if there was no global pandemic and supported his retirement decision explaining that it must be definitely well thought.

Yuzvendra Chahal opened up about how MS Dhoni has always helped him on and off-field. As the former Indian cricket team skipper is always seen looking serious while on the field, when asked if Chahal tried to play pranks or have some fun with MS Dhoni in the dressing room, Yuzvendra shared that they normally had a lot of fun, but never crossed the line with him out of respect. He continued to share that they respect their seniors, but also have the liberty to have some fun with the senior players, and mentioned it’s because of the team environment.   


Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal also shared that he has played the game PUBG with Dhoni during the lockdown. MS Dhoni will be playing in IPL 2020 and will represent his team Chennai Super Kings.
