The much-awaited sequel of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s horror-comedy Stree is all set to release in theatres on August 15th. As teh actors are currently busy in promoting the project, it seems like the makers have landed themselves in trouble. Ahead of the film’s release, netizens took to their official social media handles to point out the uncanny resemblance between Stree 2 and Stranger Things 2’s posters.

Comparing the two posters, netizens pointed out the similarities between them. From the same colour theme, the layout of the poster to the overall design, they speculated that the makers of the film copied Stranger Things 2’s poster. Many users took to X, to point out the same. One wrote, “The Stree 2 poster seems to have borrowed heavily from Stranger Things 2.” Another wrote, “Copy or Coincidence? What is it? Looks more like a copy.” The posters have certainly garnered attention of the netizens as it has sparked a debate on the plagiarism of the poster of the Netflix web series.





Talking about Stree 2, produced by Maddock Films, the film is a part of the the production house’s horror-comedy universe and it marks the return of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. The first film was released in 2018. The film also stars Abhishek Bannerjee, Tamannaah Bhatia, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Raaz, and Flora Saina in pivotal roles. The upcoming film revolves around sarkate ka aatank (the terror of the headless man).

Talking about Stranger Things, the show started streaming on Netflix in 2016. It starts  Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and others in pivotal roles.
