The CEO of OYO rooms, Ritesh Agarwal got married to Geetansha Sood on March 07, 2023, in the presence of their family and loved ones. The couple hosted a lavish wedding reception for their friends and the corporate clan. A series of pictures from Ritesh’s wedding reception have flouted the internet and many famous entrepreneurs from across the globe graced the bash.
However, the couple was brutally trolled for one particular incident. During the reception party, Softbank’s CEO and billionaire businessman, Masayoshi Son was also in attendance and when he went on the stage to congratulate the couple Ritesh Agarwal and Geetansha Sood, sought his blessings by touching his feet.
For those unaware, the crazy around experiencing big fat weddings seems to be on a hike and many are impressed by the rich culture and traditions followed during the same. In one such tradition, the bride and groom seek blessings from elders for a happy and successful married life.
Pictures of Ritesh and Geetansha touching Masayoshi Son’s blessings went viral on the internet and many made fun of Ritesh for touching Softbank’s CEO’s feet. While one user wrote, "Chalo abhi softbank se aur zyada funding milegi", another netizen commented, "Funding ke leye kya kya karna padta hain re deva".
Masayoshi Son has been one of the integral investors in OYO, which is the reason he attended the wedding of its founder, Ritesh Agarwal.
According to reports, Masayoshi is a fan of in-person meetings as he prefers them over zoom calls, which was why his visit to India left everyone surprised.
As per the reports, Aman Gupta (Co-founder of BoAt), Ashneer Grover (Co-founder of BharatPe), Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Founder of Paytm), Prafull Billore (MBA Chai Wala), and many others attended the grand reception in Delhi.
