Parineeti Chopra No Longer The Brand Ambassador Of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' Campaign; Outcome Of Her CAB Tweet?
There have been several protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) which was passed into an Act. #ShameOnBollywood was trending on Twitter as Bollywood celebs, especially the big ones, chose to remain silent about it. However, Sushant Singh, Farhan Akhtar have spoken up against it and are taking part in the protests themselves. When Sushant Singh tweeted that he won’t be continuing as the host of Savdhaan India, people assumed that it had something to do with the protest against CAA. However, the channel later revealed the real reason and it had nothing to do with the Act. Something similar happened in Parineeti Chopra’s case.

Parineeti Chopra was among the first few Bollywood celebrities to have spoken against the CAB and the violence, calling it barbaric. After that, reports on the Internet suggested that she has been removed as the brand ambassador of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign. However, this is far from the truth. According to Latestly.com, Parineeti Chopra, who was the brand ambassador of the  'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign in Haryana in 2015, ended her stint in 2016 and Sakshi Malik, India’s bronze medalist at the Rio Olympics, was appointed as the brand ambassador. The reports of Parineeti’s removal as the brand ambassador surfaced as project director of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao', Yogendra Malik reportedly said that Parineeti is not their brand manager. Which is true as her stint ended in 2016.

Parineeti Chopra’s tweet about the ongoing protests and the CAB read, “If this is what’s gonna happen everytime a citizen expresses their view, forget #CAB, we should pass a bill and not call our country a democracy anymore! Beating up innocent human beings for speaking their mind? BARBARIC.”
