Parvathy Thiruvothu Slams ‘Misogynistic’ Arjun Reddy In Front Of Vijay Deverakonda; Gets Hailed On Twitter - VIDEO
South actress Parvathy Thiruvothu is getting lauded for ripping apart the misogynistic concept of Arjun Reddy, that too in front of Vijay Deverakonda himself, watch the video inside

As much as Shahid Kapoor was lauded for his impressive performance in and as Kabir Singh, he was also slammed for doing a role that, as per a section of people, promoted masculine toxicity and misogyny. The film was an official Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy and, despite all the mixed reviews and criticism, it managed to do well at the box-office. Well, a recently held conversation by Film Companion brought the who’s who of Bollywood and the southern film industry under one roof. It included Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Manoj Bajpayee, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vijay Sethupathi, Vijay Deverakonda and Parvathy. Unsurprisingly, their discussion on cinema did mention Arjun Reddy. And Parvathy Thiruvothu, who happens to be a staunch feminist, left no chance to slamming a character as misogynistic as that of Arjun Reddy/ Kabir Singh, that too in the presence of Vijay Deverakonda himself. Criticising the concept of Arjun Reddy, she said, “When a man is being misogynistic and abusive, and you show that in a way that incites applause in the audience, then that's glorification. There has to be commercial, there has to be fun, but without demeaning gender. I can feel lustful towards a character and not make it vulgar and dispensable. With respect bhi ho sakta hai. I'm definitely against such films which glorify such characters." Everyone present in the hall, including Vijay, carefully listened to Parvathy.

Well, Paravthy’s stance on Arjun Reddy and not fearing to share in front of the actor who played such character is getting a lot of praises on online. “Parvathy fully calling out Arjun reddy and the way it glorifies violence against women when Vijay is sitting right there...
