Prince William And Kate Middleton Write To Kaziranga National Park Director; Offer Deepest Condolences To All Those Affected By Assam Floods

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince Wiliam and Kate Middleton wrote a letter the Kaziranga National Park director saying that they are heartbroken to hear about the appalling devastation caused by Assam Floods

Prince William And Kate Middleton Write To Kaziranga National Park Director; Offer Deepest Condolences To All Those Affected By Assam Floods
Just like millions across the country are sharing their condolences to the people who are affected by Assam floods, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince Harry and Kate too are concerned about the devastation caused by the floods. The royal couple had visited Assam's Kaziranga National Park in April 2016, and are heartbroken to hear about the appalling devastation that has been witnessed by the state. The royal couple wrote a letter to the director of Kaziranga National Park and offered their deepest condolences to all those affected by the floods. 
 
Parimal Suklabaidya, Minister of Fishery, Excise, Environment & Forest in the Government of Assam, took to Twitter to share the letter that was written by the Royal couple. Thanking the Royals, he tweeted, "Your admiring words towards the ever dedicated staff of Kaziranga National Park will empower them with more encouragement for safeguarding the park." In the letter to the director, Prince William and Kate wrote, "Catherine and I were heartbroken to hear about the appalling devastation to Kaziranga National Park and its precious wildlife caused by the very heavy monsoon flooding." 
 
They also spoke fondly of their visit to the National Park which further read, "We have the happiest memories of our visit to Kaziranga in April 2016 and are shocked by what has happened. The deaths of so many animals, including one-horned rhino, is deeply upsetting. We know from our visit how dedicated all the staff in Kaziranga are in caring for the Park's wildlife, and can only begin to imagine what a difficult time this must be."


They also mentioned in the letter that the loss of life and livelihoods in Assam as a result of the flooding, coming on top of the Covid-19 pandemic, is deeply distressing.
