Queen Elizabeth Was Once FURIOUS With Princess Diana Over Her HAIRSTYLE - Know More
Just like the status of the Royal Family which is pretty high, the secrets or an inside insight of it is no less. Ever since the late Princess of Wales Princess Diana tied the knot with Prince Charles, she was the only one to make her way to the headlines. Just like Elizabeth’s daughter-in-law, Prince Harry’s wife and the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, Princess Diana was also a change in the revolutionary who always tend to break the royal protocol. Having said that, back in 1984, Princess Diana did a similar thing that infuriated Queen Elizabeth II. Wondering what exactly had happened that made the monarch so enraged? Well, it was just a hairstyle.

During the State Opening of Parliament in 1984 where the House of Lords Chamber and senior royal members were present, Prince Diana opted for a new hairstyle. She entered the venue looking all regal, as it was demanded, Queen Elizabeth II was not very pleased to see her new appearance, claimed a report in IBT. An unearthed documentary showed that Prince Harry and Prince William’s mom infuriated the monarch with her hairstyle.

According to the 2002 documentary “H.M The Queen: A Remarkable Life,” Queen Elizabeth II was enraged when she saw Princess Diana’s appearance. The Queen was “unaware that her new hairstyle would overshadow the solemnity of the occasion,” the narrator said.

Talking about her new hairstyle which was the talk of the town: “[Diana] had this incredible new hairstyle and this very important dignified occasion – which is all part of the process of being the sovereign – was just blown out of the window because all the newspapers and the televisions really concentrated on Diana’s hairstyle,” royal biographer James Whitaker said.

“Now this I was told really close to the time really infuriated the Queen. She didn’t mind Diana having a new haircut – that wasn't the point. The point was that by introducing it on the day of the opening of Parliament, she took all the emphasis away from the dignity of the occasion. That was not very good for democracy and for the House of Windsor.”
