Actor R Madhavan is feeling super proud as his son Vedaant, who is a professional swimmer, has added another feather to his glowing cap. The 17-year-old swimmer broke the National Junior Record for the 1500 m freestyle at the Junior National Aquatics. Vedaant achieved this milestone by breaking the record of 16 minutes of the previous holder’s. Madhavan shared a video of his son from the event on social media and it speaks volumes about how much the actor must be feeling proud and happy.

In the video, the commentator’s voiceover can be heard in the background as he said, “Around 16 minutes, he has broken Advait’s record at the 780 m mark but he picked up his pace beautifully, I did not expect him to do it.” Vedaant left everyone surprised after he quickly picked up his pace to achieve a new milestone. Sharing the clip, the Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein actor wrote, “Never say never . National Junior Record for 1500m freestyle broken. VedaantMadhavan.” Fans and Madhavan’s friends from the industry showered love and blessings on his son and congratulated the champ for the big win. Last year, Vedaant won seven medals at the 47th Junior National Aquatic Championships 2021 held in Bengaluru. He also won gold at the Danish Open 2022 in Copenhagen. The actor has been very vocal about his son’s achievements in public and leaves no chance to gush over his talented boy. In fact, Madhavan once joked how he has started feeling jealous as people now come to him to talk about his son instead of his films.

On the work front, R Madhavan is currently riding high on the success of his latest release ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ which has garnered rave reviews from audience and critics alike.  The biopic which is based on the life of the former rocket scientist, Nambi Narayanan at the Indian Space Research Organisation, has performed exceptionally well at the box office.
