Lukkhe has been winning widespread appreciation for its grounded storytelling and emotionally layered performances, with critics particularly applauding the authenticity Raashii Khanna and Lakshvir Saran brought to their characters. From their nuanced acting to the effortless Punjabi dialect, the duo’s performances have struck a chord with audiences, making their on-screen dynamic one of the standout elements of the series. Speaking about the hard work behind it, Raashii opened up about the nitty-gritties of learning the dialect while Lakshvir recalled how her dedication and collaborative spirit helped him refine his Punjabi as well.
Speaking about mastering the Punjabi dialect, Raashii Khanna shared, “Authenticity is extremely important to me as an actor because language adds so much truth and depth to a character. I always want the audience to fully believe the world and the person I’m playing, which is why I went all in with Punjabi for this show. I’ve learnt Tamil and Telugu before for my roles, and this time I really immersed myself in Punjabi. Growing up in Delhi, I understood the language but never really spoke it fluently, so my father became my biggest coach. I’d constantly call him with my notebook asking, ‘Yeh line kaise bolni hai?’ He was very particular that I shouldn’t mix Hindi with Punjabi because he deeply respects the language and its roots. I worked really hard on getting it right, and I truly feel language helps you connect more honestly with both the character and the audience.”
Talking about working with Raashii Khanna, Lakshvir shared, “Talking about working with Raashii Khanna, Lakshvir shared, “Raashii is one of the most hardworking and secure actors I’ve worked with. What stayed with me was how genuinely invested she was in helping me get my Punjabi right. A couple of times, she even called her father to help us crack the correct pronunciations for certain lines. Despite being so experienced, she was always curious, collaborative, and fully focused on making every scene better. There’s honestly so much to learn from her dedication and passion for the craft.”
