Rahul Ramakrishna’s Brother Dies Due To Paraquat Poisoning: Actor Urges PM Narendra Modi To Ban Toxic Herbicide

Rahul Ramakrishna is going through a deeply tragic phase after losing his brother, who reportedly died due to paraquat poisoning. The actor, known for his work in Arjun Reddy, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, expressing both grief and concern over the easy availability of the highly toxic substance.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Rahul revealed that the incident has left him shaken, especially after realizing how widely accessible paraquat is despite its lethal nature. In his emotional post, he tagged Narendra Modi and urged immediate action to prevent further loss of lives.

He wrote, “Honourable Sirs @TelanganaCMO @PMOIndia, Lost my brother today to Paraquat poisoning. It’s terrifyingly lethal and widely misused for self-destruction. Shocked by how easily it is available everywhere. Doctors are overwhelmed by the amount of cases. Please ban it ASAP-save lives.”

Paraquat is a widely used herbicide in agriculture, primarily meant to eliminate weeds. However, medical experts warn that it is extremely dangerous for humans. Even a small amount, if ingested, can cause severe damage to internal organs including the mouth, digestive system, and lungs, often leading to breathing complications and death.

Reports suggest that there is no simple antidote for paraquat poisoning, making recovery in most severe cases highly unlikely. The chemical can also enter the body through inhalation or skin contact, further increasing its risk.

The actor’s post has sparked widespread concern online, with many supporting his demand for stricter regulations or a complete ban on the toxic herbicide.
