Rupali Ganguly Calls Herself A ‘Modi Devotee’, Praises PM Modi For Transforming India’s Global Image
Mumbai-based TV star Rupali Ganguly, best known for her role in "Anupamaa," expressed heartfelt admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a recent IANS interview, describing herself as a “Modi devotee.” Reflecting on his 11-year tenure, she said, “It’s been 11 years, and it feels like many more,” underscoring the extraordinary impact of his leadership .
Ganguly shared that during her travels abroad, she noticed a dramatic shift in India’s global reputation. “Earlier, people didn’t know who our Prime Minister was. Today, wherever we go—from America to Mauritius—everyone knows Narendra Modi is leading India,” she observed. She recounted her time in Mauritius, where individuals of Indian origin expressed immense pride in Modi’s revival of Indian culture. “Because of the way he has brought culture back into fashion. Now we are proud to say that we are Indians and that this is our culture,” she added.
Ganguly also touched on how outdated stereotypes about India—being labeled as a “cow‑worshipping country” or “snake‑charmer country”—have faded. “It’s not like that anymore. Now the whole world knows that India’s culture is so strong. So many people come here to experience that culture,” she stated.
Emphasizing her deep respect, she reiterated, “I am proud to say that I am a Modi devotee. It's been 11 years. On one hand, I didn’t even realize that it's been 11 years; on the other hand, it feels like it’s been 11 years and many more. I am a big fan of Modi ji”.
This reflection coincides with Modi marking 11 years in office since 2014, with his government recently completing the first year of its third consecutive term on June 9, 2025—a milestone signalling over a decade of continued governance and a new chapter in his vision for India.
