Saher Bhamla, Bhumi Pednekar And Smt. Amruta Fadnavis Launch Bhamla Foundation’s #DriveHerFuture: Pink E‑Rickshaw Initiative Links Women’s Livelihoods With Clean Mobility
Mumbai, 2 June 2026 — Bhamla Foundation today launched the Pink E‑Rickshaw Support Initiative — #DriveHerFuture — at Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai. Introduced ahead of World Environment Day, the campaign aims to place women at the centre of the green mobility conversation by promoting cleaner transport as a pathway to income, independence and civic participation.
The pink e‑rickshaw, the campaign’s symbol, represents a practical model that connects sustainable mobility, climate action and women’s livelihoods. By providing women with access to e‑rickshaws, the foundation intends to move beyond awareness-raising to create visible, income-generating opportunities that build confidence and choice.

The launch brought together public figures and civic voices who reinforced the initiative’s social, environmental and civic objectives. Smt. Amruta Fadnavis, Bhumi Pednekar, Aparna Purohit and Saher Bhamla attended the event, each lending a distinct perspective to the campaign.
- Smt. Amruta Fadnavis emphasized women’s dignity, self-reliance and social participation.
- Bhumi Pednekar, a vocal environmental advocate, highlighted the climate action dimension.
- Aparna Purohit contributed a contemporary public voice to the conversation.
- Saher Bhamla, representing Bhamla Foundation’s next‑generation leadership, framed the initiative as a youth‑led, impact‑focused step toward sustainable cities.
“At its core, #DriveHerFuture is a livelihood‑first climate initiative,” said Saher Bhamla. “When women get access to mobility and livelihood, they gain confidence and choice. The pink e‑rickshaw represents income, independence and a cleaner way forward for our cities.”
The Bhamla Foundation says the Pink E‑Rickshaw Support Initiative will serve as a scalable model that demonstrates how clean mobility solutions can directly benefit women economically while contributing to urban climate goals. The campaign aims to encourage public participation and partnerships that expand access to e‑rickshaws and related training and support services for women drivers and entrepreneurs.
