Sameer Wankhede Files Defamation Case Against Rakhi Sawant For Rs 11 Lakh; Here’s What We Know- REPORTS
Rakhi Sawant and her lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan have landed in legal trouble as former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede has filed a defamation suit against them
Reality show star and internet sensation Rakhi Sawant has found herself in yet another legal trouble. Having made a name for herself, over the years, for constantly stirring up trouble and controversies, she often becomes the talk of the town. On Tuesday evening it was heavily reported that she and her lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan have found themselves in legal trouble. Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede filed a defamation case against them claiming Rs 11 lakh.
According to a recent report by the Free Press Journal, the case has been filed before the Dindoshi City Civil Court in Malad, Mumbai. Through his petition, the NCB officer, who came under the scanner for arresting Aryan Khan during a raid on the Cordelia cruise ship, mentioned that the Bigg Boss season 1 contestant and her lawyer tried to tarnish his image and defame him. In an interaction with ETimes, Khan reacted to the defamation case and stated that as per the law, there is “no defamation when truth have been spoken for public good.” Quoted by the media publication, he went on to add, “The second exception in Section 499 of IPC talks about public conduct of public servants. Ali Kaashif Khan further stated that he will be giving Wankhede a befitting reply and fight it out. He added, “If he proves his case beyond reasonable doubt, I will pay him 11.01 lac rupees.” It is to be noted that Rakhi Sawant has yet to react to the defamation case against her by Sameer Wankhede.
Talking about the 45-year-old, she recently made the headlines after her ex-husband Adil Khan Durrani tied the knot for the second time with Somy Ali. The estranged lovers had tied the knot in 2022 in a traditional ceremony. However, they parted ways a year later after a messy divorce filled with allegations and accusations. The couple left no stone unturned to wash their dirty laundry in front of the media and even went as far as to file around 7 cases on each other.
