Sameer Wankhede, a narcotics central bureau officer, made headlines after he arrested Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a drug case. For the unversed, last year in October, Sameer came into the limelight after he nabbed Aryan from a Mumbai cruise for allegedly consuming drugs along with a few others. He was later transferred to Chennai for wrongly arresting SRK’s son. On Monday, Wankhede was spotted at an event in Mumbai on the occasion of Independence Day and delivered a speech about the drug menace among teenagers.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the former Mumbai zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau could be seen felicitating at the event in the presence of singer Anoop Jalota and others. In his speech, the officer talked about the drug increase among teens. He revealed that he has come across cases where teenagers are taking drugs in front of their parents and they are just helpless. Wankhede also pointed out that teens these days are consuming drugs like they are ‘having chai’ with their friends. He went on to add that no death threats, accidents, and fake cases against him can stop him from curbing drug usage in teens. While many netizens lauded Sameer Wankhede for his speech, a certain section of users brutally trolled him. Reacting to it, one user wrote, “why did he jail Aryan Khan with no proof.” Another said, “I can’t trust this man doing messed up things, and now giving lectures spoiled the name of ncb.” One comment read, “Kitne paise lete hai aap case khatam karne ke liye.”
Meanwhile, Sameer Wankhede has recently got a big relief from the Caste Scrutiny Committee as he has been given a clean chit in the caste certificate case.
