Actress Karisma Kapoor was spotted boarding a flight to New Delhi on Thursday, accompanied by her two children, Samaira and Kiaan, to attend the funeral of her ex-husband, businessman Sunjay Kapur. With them were Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, dressed in all-white, signaling their intent to participate in the solemn occasion.
Early Thursday morning at the private Mumbai airport, Karisma, clad in white, was seen shielding her children from the paparazzi as she made her way inside. Shortly afterward, Kareena and Saif arrived in similar white attire. They quickly exited their vehicle and entered the terminal, presumably to board the same flight as Karisma and the kids.
Kapur passed away on June 12 in the UK, succumbing to a heart attack while playing polo. Reports detail how he swallowed a bee during the game; it became stuck in his throat, triggering the cardiac event. His burial was postponed due to legal complexities surrounding his US citizenship and his body being in the UK. The cremation has now been scheduled for today, June 19, at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in Delhi, followed by a prayer ceremony set for June 22.
Karisma and Sunjay married in 2003, but their relationship ended in a messy divorce finalized in 2016. Karisma accused him of domestic abuse and other allegations during the process. After their separation, Sunjay wed Priya Sachdev, and the couple had a son, Azarius. Karisma and Sunjay share two children from their marriage: daughter Samaira and son Kiaan.
