Say What! Oscar-Winning Resul Pookutty Calls RRR ‘Gay Love Story’, Says, 'Alia Bhatt Was Used As A Prop' In SS Rajamouli's Magnum Opus
Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty is receiving severe backlash on social media over his comments on SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR.' While replying to a tweet from actor-writer Munish Bharadwaj, Resul took a dig at Ram Charan and Jr Ntr starrer  by calling it a ‘gay love story.’ Not just that, the sound designer went on to criticize Alia Bhatt’s stint in the movie as he branded her merely as a ‘prop’ in this blockbuster.

Slamming RRR, actor Munish Bharadwaj tweeted, “Saw 30 minutes of garbage called RRR last night.” Responding to this, Resul Pookutty said, “Gay love story (sic)” and @aliaa08 is a prop in that film.” This statement of Resul has upset fans who lashed out at him on Twitter. One user said, "There is no shame & harm even if it`s that kind of story #LGBT. Did not expect such low comments from an Oscar award winner. Respect should be given to the profession irrespective of its language & even if it does not satisfy us.” Another tweeted, “Not expected this from an Oscar winner.” ALSO READ: SS Rajamouli’s RRR’s Interval Scene Shooting Cost Was Rs 75 Lakh Per Day, Revealed Filmmaker Ahead Of The Movie Release

There is no stooping factor in this.U don’t have2 take it seriously Shobu,I didn’t mean any offense2 any stake holders.I rest my case here!.”

To note, Resul’s comments came after RRR was released on Netflix and the Western audience termed the film a ‘gay romance’.  Directed by SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan and Jr NTR played the roles of Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, respectively in RRR. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran were seen in cameo roles.
