Shera's Father Passes Away: Salman Khan's Bodyguard Loses His 88-Year-Old Father Due To Cancer
Salman Khan's longtime personal bodyguard Shera is grieving the loss of his father, Shri Sunder Singh Jolly, who passed away on August 7, Thursday, in Mumbai. He was reportedly battling cancer and was 88 at the time of his demise.
Confirming the news, Shera shared an official statement on his father’s passing. He wrote, "My father Shri Sunder Singh Jolly has left for heavenly abode today. The last journey will start at 4 PM from my residence 1902, The Park luxury Residences, Off Lokhandwala Back Road, Oshiwara, Andheri West, Mumbai."
Salman Khan, who has shared a close bond with Shera for decades, is expected to visit Shera’s family later in the day to pay his respects.
It was just a few months ago that Shera had taken to social media to post a heartfelt tribute to his father on his 88th birthday. In his post, he expressed his admiration and love for the man who inspired him. "Happy 88th birthday to the strongest man my God my father, my inspiration! Every bit of strength in me comes from you. Love you dad always!" he wrote, along with photos of his family.
Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, has been by Salman Khan’s side for several decades. Apart from being the superstar’s personal bodyguard, he is also the owner of Tiger Security, a company that provides security services to many top Bollywood stars including Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Katrina Kaif. His firm has also handled security for international celebrities like Mike Tyson and Justin Bieber.
Speaking in an interview last year, Shera opened up about the challenges of working with Salman Khan. "Salman Khan has a threat to his life, the stars who have a threat to life it is difficult for them to go into the crowd. When you are in security, it is about taking a decision at the right time."
