Shiv Thakare Breaks Silence After Massive Fire At His Goregaon Home: “Main Soya Tha, Maid Saved My Life”

Bigg Boss 16 runner-up Shiv Thakare has spoken out after a huge fire engulfed his apartment in Goregaon West, Mumbai. The blaze broke out early Tuesday morning while he was asleep. “Main ghar pe hi tha, yeh sabere hua, main soya tha,” he recalled, admitting he had been unaware of the danger.

Shiv expressed deep gratitude to a maid whom he called his savior. “Meri maid bhagwan ban ke aayi, aur usne knock-knock kiya. Main bahar aa ke dekha toh pura rakh rakh bana tha mahaul,” he said, picturing the chaos outside as he stepped out to assess the damage. He also thanked God, reflecting, “Aisa samjho ki upar wale ki dua hai mere sath isliye mai khada hu yaha pe.”

Despite the house suffering extensive damage, Shiv insisted he's not worried about the financial setback. He said he can earn it back and rebuild, but admitted that losing his trophies was heartbreaking — they held irreplaceable sentimental value. As he put it, “What truly broke his heart … was seeing his trophies destroyed, irreplaceable memories that no amount of money can bring back.” 

Shiv’s team confirmed that although the flat was badly damaged, the reality star was unharmed.  Reports suggest a short circuit caused the fire.Sources close to the matter claim that building safety systems like fire alarms and sprinklers failed during the incident.  Shiv, in fact, said he had previously raised complaints about electrical issues in the building, but his concerns allegedly went unaddressed.

Shaken by the ordeal, Shiv revealed he spent the night at a friend’s house and is urgently looking for a new apartment.
