In recent times, social media users can get offended, irked and unnecessarily surprised. Now, yet another bizarre Twitter trend has made us question logic!

Earlier this weekend, a slew of tweets including the words ‘Nidhi’ and ‘Blouse’ took over the Twitter trends. Well, from what we have seen, a section of Twitter users were trolling Delhi-based Youtuber and astrologer Nidhi Chaudhary for her choice of clothes.

Nidhi seemingly left the Twitter verse angry as she chose to ditch the blouse under her saree. 


For the unversed, Nidhi Chaudhary is quite a popular name and the astrologer has 14.1k followers on Twitter. She also describes herself as a lawyer, a social media influencer, and a fashion stylist in her bio. 

Recently, she uploaded a video wherein she advises viewers to never exploit house-help helpers & always help underprivileged people.

“One of the best remedy for Saturn/ Shani is to never exploit your helpers & help the underprivileged people,” she captioned the video. The video featured her wearing a blue saree sans blouse, along with silver ornaments, rudraksha, and a black bindi.

Shortly after the Twitter users saw the video they swarmed in numbers to troll Nidhi as she chose to not wear a blouse. Trolling her for fashion choice, one user even offered to send her money to buy a blouse.
Interestingly, the influencer replied to the message with her UPI ID, and soon other memes started to pour on Twitter. 

“For me you are an underprivileged woman right now, who couldn’t afford a blouse. Give me your bank account details, will transfer some money to buy one. What example are you setting for our youth? Astrology is vedic science and this is no way to use it. Cheap!!!,” one user wrote. “Instead of watching Brahmastra donate 500/- to this poor lady who can’t buy a blouse for herself. Help underprivileged,” another user mocked her.


But, there seems to be a section of users who had kept their brains intact and they jumped in to support Nidhi. One user wrote, “Cant believe people’s mindset. No one in their right mind would find anything wrong in this highly educative video. More power to you NidhiJi. You know we are always with you.”




Later, Nidhi reacted to the trolls and wrote, “What a day it was It was funny but shocking that people are so much concerned about my clothes rather their own life & other problems of the society. Well.. I had a good time. Thank you everyone.”



In an attempt to mock the Twitter users and their crass mentality, the content creator even shared a stunning picture of herself in the same saree without a blouse and simply wrote, ‘Love conquers all ❤️’.


Nevertheless, even in 2022 the world still thinks individuals should restrict women from wearing their choice of clothes. Clearly, we still have a long way to go! 

It is really sad to see people becoming moral custodians and shaming a woman for her clothes. Maybe these people have conveniently forgotten that we belong to a nation that has a history of women not wearing blouses. Nidhi’s clothes were in no way vulgar, or distasteful. Trolling and belittling her signifies that society still wants to dictate to women what to wear, and feels entitled to enforce its irrational expectations on them.
