Smriti Mandhana–Palash Muchhal Wedding Postponed; Palak Muchhal Confirms, Requests Privacy Amid Family Health Crisis

Palash Muchhal’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, has confirmed that his wedding to Indian cricket vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has been postponed, citing health concerns in Smriti’s family. The ceremony was originally scheduled to take place in Sangli, Maharashtra, but had to be halted when Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell seriously ill.

In a message shared via Instagram Stories, Palak wrote, “Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time.”

According to reports, Mr. Mandhana became unwell while having breakfast on the day of the ceremony. His condition deteriorated rapidly, and he was taken to hospital by ambulance. Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed that she decided to postpone the wedding indefinitely until her father recovers.

Meanwhile, Palash Muchhal was also briefly hospitalised, though he has since been discharged. In light of the situation, Smriti has removed her proposal video and other wedding announcement content from her social media. Several of her teammates — including Jemimah Rodrigues — have reportedly done the same.

No new wedding date has been announced yet. As the family focuses on recovery and healing, friends, well-wishers, and fans are left waiting — hoping for both Smriti’s father’s health to improve and for the celebrations to resume when the time is right.
